“Quiet Songs” is a concert of medieval music in church acoustics.
The program includes spiritual songs of the troubadours and instrumental forms recommended by Johannes de Grocheio in the late 13th and early 14th centuries to turn the mind away from bad thoughts.
The program includes:
Vocal lines intertwine with the sounds of rare historical instruments: citole, Latin guitar, and chifonie. The quiet acoustics of the instruments make it possible to hear the details of melodic structure in the complex sound forms of the Middle Ages.
