On June 20 at the Cultural Center, there will be a meeting with Nikita Demin — a writer and playwright from Siberia. His play «Delo» was shortlisted for «Lyubimovka» in 2025, and the short story collection «Ganimed» was written during years of constant moves and was first published in print in Tbilisi.
About the book «Ganimed»
At the center of the collection is a contemporary reinterpretation of the ancient myth of the eternally young boy. The main character is a student at an art school, whose sincerity and desire to live here and now suddenly turn into the subject of a criminal case.
«Ganimed» brings together different forms of writing: fiction, poetic texts, elements of documentary prose, and drama. The edition includes new texts, as well as the play «Delo» — a verbatim conversation about how private life becomes the object of an investigation.
This is a book about fragility, growing up, moving, and searching for a home in a changing world.
The meeting will discuss the book, contemporary drama, writing on the road, and how personal experience turns into literary text.
