The Tolerance Project promotes social acceptance through the power of design. In collaboration with artists around the world, it seeks to raise awareness of intolerance and encourage positive change among people, regardless of their background and place of residence.

Each edition presents posters by local artists that visually interpret the word “tolerance” in their native language. The posters are exhibited in public spaces — in parks, on university campuses, and even on buses — in order to reach as broad and diverse a segment of society as possible.

Through posters that are at once playful and profound, unexpected and original, the Project uses the unique power of design to remind us of what we share and what is needed to bridge the divisions between us. The goal is to spark a conversation about inclusion based on tolerance, in a world increasingly divided by differences in race, religion, sexual orientation, and national origin.
