L'elisir d'amore

Immerse yourself in the world of opera with L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Doniceti. Operosa and Herceg Novi invite you to the opening of the 13th edition of the Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival with this masterpiece of the opera repertoire.

The plot follows Nemorino, a poor peasant deeply in love with the beautiful and wealthy Adina. While the self-confident sergeant Belkore openly courts Adina, she torments Nemorino with her indifference. Inspired by the legend of Tristan and Isolde, Nemorino seeks a miraculous potion that will help him win her heart. The arrival of the charismatic Doctor Dulkamara provides the perfect opportunity; Nemorino buys a "love potion," setting off a chain of events that reveal how far a person in love is willing to go for love.

This production will be performed by the ensemble of the first Operosa summer opera academy accompanied by the Operosa chamber orchestra. The academy was realized in cooperation with the Music Academy in Cetinje and brought together talented young singers and musicians from Montenegro and all across Europe.
