Synopsis: Lena, a twenty-year-old woman, lives in a small, overcrowded apartment in Athens. Torn between family expectations, poverty and the desire for independence, her daily life unfolds at a monotonous pace. Her dream is simple—to move out and start living by her own rules, far from the toxic environment in which she grew up.
That fragile balance collapses when Lena loses her job. Almost simultaneously, she discovers that she is pregnant. In a world where nothing is certain, the new life growing inside her becomes both a burden and a possibility.
About the Director: Amerissa Basta is a Greek film director and screenwriter. She graduated from Panteion University in Athens, where she earned a master’s degree in cultural management. She then completed a master’s degree in creative writing and screenwriting at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, further developing her skills in narrative and film production.
Since 2010, she has been actively involved in film as a screenwriter and director of numerous short films that have been screened and awarded at international film festivals. Life in Rhythm (2025) is her first feature-length fiction film.
