Stephan Komandarev (1966) is a Bulgarian director, screenwriter and producer. He gained international recognition with the films The world is big and salvation lurks around the corner (2008), The judgement (2014), Directions (2017) and Rounds (2019), which were screened at festivals in Cannes, Karlovy Vary and other international film festivals. He is known for his socially engaged dramas inspired by contemporary Bulgaria.
