MRKI – I haven’t told you

“MRKI – I never told you” is an intimate theatrical confession with live music and the original project of actor Marko Janketić, born out of the need to continue an unfinished conversation.

At the heart of this personal stage act is not a character, but a human being. For the first time, Marko Janketić speaks before the audience under his own first and last name, returning to his relationship with his father, the legendary actor Mišo Janketić. This is neither a tribute nor a biographical overview, but the personal testimony of a son trying to say what he did not have the chance—or did not know how—to say in time.

The confession addresses themes ranging from growing up under a powerful father’s authority, the acting profession and the burden of a surname, to his own experience of parenthood, life’s turning points, vices, dilemmas, and attempts to change things for the better. It is a story about unspoken sentences and a love that, despite everything, is present.

The production is directed by Anđelka Stević Žugić in collaboration with Nikola Zavišić. The performance features Marko Janketić and a band. “MRKI – I never told you” brings a personal story that connects the stage and life, like a conversation that came too late but has finally been spoken.
