Synopsis: The film “Guardian of the Icon of Saint George” is set in the present day, in southern Serbia, and follows Stanoje, a steadfast peasant (Radoš Bajić), who refuses to abandon his ancestral land on the slopes of Mount Radan. While caring for his sick father, Stanoje is harassed by an Albanian gang that intimidates him and tries to force him to sell his property.

After one tragic night, Stanoje suddenly becomes an outlaw, pursued by the very system that fails to protect him. Hunted by both criminals and the police, he is forced to face an impossible choice: surrender or survival. Only Sonja, a young police inspector (Miona Marković), begins to realize that Stanoje is the true victim of abuse, violence, and corruption.
