Third Documentary Film Review: “The Fox Under the Pink Moon”

As part of the Third Documentary Film Showcase, organized by the Montenegro Cinema Exhibitors Network in cooperation with @UnderhillFestival, the film “The Fox Under the Pink Moon” will be screened.

October 5 (Monday) at 9:00 p.m.

Sixteen-year-old Soraja is married to a violent man and has decided to take control of her own future. This Afghan sculptor and illustrator has been trying for five years to find a way out of Iran and join her mother in Austria.

The film is a subtly woven self-portrait that interweaves scenes of her attempts to escape with political news from Afghanistan and videos in which she sings and dances or shows her own bruises. Through cinematography often shot in dangerous conditions and the protagonist’s energy, the film follows her struggle to reclaim her identity.

The film has been screened at more than 50 festivals around the world and has won more than 30 awards, including recognition at the IDFA festival in Amsterdam and ZagrebDox, as well as awards in Belgrade, Podgorica, Geneva, Prague, and Oslo.
