As part of the third Documentary Film Showcase, organized by the Montenegro Cinema Exhibitors Network in cooperation with @UnderhillFestival, the documentary film “Milica, u majke” will be screened in Herceg Novi.
5 October (Monday) at 8:00 PM
Who was Milica from the old Podgorica sevdalinka? The famous verses popularized by the “nightingale from Ribnica,” Ksenija Cicvarić, have been given a cinematic dimension.
After years of research, the documentary film “Milica, u majke” takes viewers through memories, oral tradition, and the search for the real woman behind the verses. The trail of the story leads from Stara Varoš to Sarajevo, as project author Olivera Vukadinović attempts to uncover who the mysterious Milica really was—her life and identity still concealed between two conflicting stories.
