Children’s play: “Doll Clinic”

The children’s play “Puppet Clinic” will be performed on 19 October at 6 p.m. at Park Hall. Admission is free.

“Puppet Clinic” was created more than six decades ago, based on a text by Jovan Aleksić. The music, original direction and choreography are by Vida Matjan, a composer, conductor and music educator who made a significant contribution to the cultural and musical life of the Bay of Kotor.

The discovery of the original score among her artistic legacy has made it possible to perform this musical stage work again. The play was adapted for the contemporary stage by Dejan Đonović, an actor with the City Theatre Podgorica, author and children’s poet, who also takes part in the performance.

The musical part, arranged by Ilija Rajković, will be performed by the Quintet of the Bokelian Symphony Orchestra:

• Andrea Živković – flute
• Milena Rajković – violin
• Lara Bubanja – clarinet
• Jovanka Veljović – piano
• Milorad Balić – percussion

The conductor is Anđela Homen.

The young actors appearing in the play are:

• Bella Petković
• Ema Đonović
• Doris Franović
• Jovana Radanović
• Andrej Krivokapić
• Katja Živković

Members of the choir of the “Vida Matjan” Music School, prepared by teacher Ksenija Đuričković, are also taking part in the performance. The set design and costumes are by the Public Institution Museums and Galleries of Kotor.

The play tells the story of puppets that come to life through music, movement and play, connecting the musical heritage of the Bay of Kotor with contemporary stage expression.
