In distant China, during the reign of the imperial Song dynasty, around 500 AD, two reincarnated souls, Blanka and Sjen, meet at the Broken Bridge after many years of searching. Realizing that their love is still alive, they continue together through the streets and alleys of the city of Lin An in the south of the Chinese Empire. Their happiness does not last long: at the Dragon Boat Festival, Blanka mistakenly drinks wine from a cup intended for someone else and transforms into the White Snake.
