The production depicts the history of Princess Ksenija Petrović-Njegoš, daughter of Montenegrin ruler Prince Nikola Petrović Njegoš, who distinguished herself as the first female photographer and first female driver in the Balkans. Through the character of Ksenija and her relationships with her father, the drama explores the fate of an ambitious and principled woman who chose independence and political activities instead of family life, and was later exiled from her homeland together with the royal family.
