Thus Spoke... The Prosecutor

A theatrical production by Grigory Kofman based on Vladimir Sorokin's novel "Norma".

A courtroom drama presenting a schizophrenic trial with fractured identities affecting all present, including the jury members who are also the audience. Sorokin's works provide an opportunity for multilayered dramatic situations to unfold on stage through a contemporary mythological framework that can be understood as the Phantom of Human Culture.

In "The Prosecutor's Speech," a prosecutor presents the case of a defendant accused, in essence, of placing twentieth-century art above all other achievements of human culture through his scientific research.
