Zelenika Summer Games 2026

"Zeleničke ljetnje igre 2026" is a traditional event promoting sport, entertainment, socializing and the preservation of the cultural heritage of Zelenika. It will be held on 3 and 4 August, organized by the Mjesna zajednica "Zelenika–Kuti", under the patronage of the Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi and the Municipality of Herceg Novi.

Day 1 – Monday, 3 August, 21:00 — Opening ceremony on the waterfront near Luka Zelenika, featuring a performance by KUD "Ilija Kišić", followed by a concert by Mirza Selimović.

Day 2 – Tuesday, 4 August, 19:30 — Programme starts at the swimming area of PVK "Galeb", including the draw of pairs and the start of the competition in seven sports and entertainment disciplines. Visitors will be offered a traditional fish and wine reception, with the evening continuing with a musical programme and a DJ performance.

Competition disciplines (7 total):

• Carrying crates
• Sack race
• Flying water polo
• "Kolica" (wheelbarrow) race
• Removing prosciutto from a greased beam
• Wrestling on pontoons "piggyback style"
• Traditional tug of war (premium discipline, carrying the highest weight in overall scoring)

Participation rules:

• Maximum of 8 teams
• Each team: 8 to 10 competitors, including at least 2 women
• Minimum age: 16 years

Team registration: open until 31 July, at the premises of Mjesna zajednica Zelenika–Kuti, on working days from 8:00 to 12:00. Due to the limited number of places, interested teams are advised to register in advance.
