Herceg Novi Film Festival – Montenegro Film Festival is the most important film festival in Montenegro and has been running for more than three decades. The Festival is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films – FIAPF), making it part of the global network of renowned international film festivals. The Festival’s International Program includes competitive sections: feature-length fiction films documentary films student films a selection from the Adriatic Region Festival Network The non-competitive Kino Evropa program presents recent works by established European filmmakers. As of 2025, the Festival also includes a program dedicated to television series. The Festival’s main goal is to promote regional and world cinema, opening space for filmmakers and films that cultivate an authentic artistic sensibility, a bold approach to social reality, film language, and production, with an emphasis on showcasing contemporary poetics and expression. As part of the Festival, the Montenegro Film Rendezvous is held, organized by the Film Centre of Montenegro — film industry days dedicated to strengthening ties between the Montenegrin and European film industries and supporting the career development of Montenegrin film authors and professionals.
